Cherie Gonzalez

Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Qualified Supervisor

Cherie Gonzalez is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Qualified Supervisor who works with individuals and couples feeling emotionally stuck, disconnected, or overwhelmed by the demands of everyday life. Whether navigating work stress, parenting, caregiving for aging loved ones, or relationship challenges, she helps clients reconnect with themselves and build more meaningful, fulfilling lives.

A graduate of New York University’s Silver School of Social Work, Cherie is proud to be a first-generation Colombian American, born and raised in Queens, New York. She is fluent in both English and Spanish and currently practices in both New York and Florida, bringing a culturally attuned and flexible perspective to her work.

Cherie’s path into social work began unexpectedly, but quickly became a calling. With the encouragement of a mentor who saw her potential, she discovered a passion for empowering others, especially women, to grow into their most authentic selves. She often reflects on how that guidance shaped her journey, and today, she strives to offer the same support and encouragement to those she works with. As she puts it, she aims to help clients “become a true and authentic version of themselves and live a life that reflects their values.”

Her approach is grounded in both professional expertise and personal insight. Cherie deeply believes in “walking the walk and talking the talk,” having engaged in her own therapy and ongoing self-development to continually grow as a clinician. She meets each client with kindness, respect, and a genuine curiosity about their story, recognizing that people often enter therapy during some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives.

Outside of her work, Cherie enjoys exploring her local community, completing puzzles, and unwinding with police and fire dramas. She is married and a proud mother of three boys, and values the balance her career allows her to maintain between her professional and personal life.

Cherie is currently working toward completing her Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) certification, continuing her commitment to expanding her clinical skills. She looks forward to walking alongside each client as they begin their therapy journey, supporting them as they turn the page and step into a new chapter of their lives. She often shares a powerful reminder from Erica Jong with her clients: “And the trouble is, if you don’t risk anything, you risk even more.” With this mindset, she encourages growth, courage, and openness to change.
